Walking home from work tonight about twenty minutes ago I saw a cat in the playground next to the ballpark on Holland Street. She (I think it was a she) was SUPER friendly and pretty young, still kittenish. Small tuxedo cat, with four white paws, a white tummy, and classic face coloring with a little black goatee on her chin. She was wearing a red collar with a reflective stripe that was pretty fluffed up and no tags. She seemed fine, with a clean smooth coat and she wasn't very cold, so I left her there. I tried to get a picture with my camera phone but she was moving around so much rubbing on everything and flipping around that this was the best I got:

If she is an indoor/outdoor kitty who is just going for an evening jaunt, that's fine (get some tags!) but if you're looking for her, I last saw her in that playground. I hope she is okay! Too much a worrier, I am...

I saw this cat around 1 at the entrance to the bike path at Davis Square towards Alewife. She came over for a pet and then continued on her way.

I met this cat too, a few days ago (also by Holland & Paulina). She's adorable and very friendly -- I was even able to pick her up.

Not again!

This kitty has been out a lot. I have taken it back to it's house on 2 occasions, both of which the people living there (many different people) acted as though it wasn't supposed to be out. In the picture, it appears to be wearing a collar which is more than before. I have told them I worry for the cat because it doesn't seem to know how to handle the traffic of Holland St. (they live right on Holland, can't remember the address, but it's the house across from traffic and parking that has a Hummer) and that tags would be a good idea. I've been so tempted to bring the poor kitty home. It's been awhile since I saw it, so I was hoping the problem was resolved, but I guess not. Such a sweet kitty!

BTW, someone posted here about another missing black tuxedo cat like this. I don't think this is the same cat.....this one weighs about 10 lbs. I'd guess.

I hope someone takes her in, to be honest. The owners are clearly not very with it.

Not again!

Sorry, this comment was supposed to be to the whole thread....

Ugh, that must so stressful to witness... if you know the house address, you could maybe print up some tags for the cat yourself, and stick them on the collar next time you see her? Can't exactly take someone's cat, but you can help her have better identification, and it may make you feel less helpless. :/

If you really think the owners are neglectful, you could try calling Animal Control and at least asking for advice, if not intervention.
