So I just made an appointment at Lang's Dentist in Ball Square (And yes, I looked in the tags first and saw nothing on them..) and now I'm a little worried because they were able to get me an appointment this Friday... Which seems a bit suspicious, does anyone know anything about this place?

If you can get an appointment, go see Casey Cook at Davis Square Dental. He's the man.

Unfortunately, I'm already a client of Cook's and when I called he was booked through mid-december.

Lang's might just be new?

I had the same experience at a dentist (http://www.afamilydentistry.com/) in Medford Sq., called on a Thursday or Friday and got in Saturday AM. The dentist office was fantastic.

I would keep the appointment and if you don't like them change. Most likely someone canceled and you got lucky.

Casey is the 100% man. However, I don't think he's accepting new patients. HE'S THAT AWESOME (actually, he's just that busy).

I don't know anything about that place, but I do know that getting a quick appointment doesn't necessarily mean anything about the quality of care. My chiropractor almost always has availability the day I call or the next day, and she's awesome. So don't make any hasty assumptions.

I was hoping that http://boston.doctoroogle.com/ might help, but the only Lang I see listed there is in Bedford and doesn't have any reviews.

Also a question of what the appointment is for? I've always had harder times scheduling a regular cleaning than for more advanced stuff, at the various dentists I've had.

The Hot Tamale

Ooooh, *more* suspicious activity!!!... paranoia, thixotropic lability, and conspiracy theories will ensue shortly, just as soon as the chosen ones have adjusted their aluminum foil hats. (Okay, sorry, 'twas an inside joke and mid-terms are making me crazy)

I do not have anything to offer on Lang's, but I would encourage you to run a background check for suspension of license, etc. on whatever dentist you do choose. (It will tell you if there was ever any legal issues/drug addictions that were dealt with.)

With that being said, I go to The Hot Tamale(Casey Cook) at 51 Holland Street. I've been pleased with his entire office. And in case you (or anyone else) needs a root canal, hemisection or apicoectomy done...Dr. Cook refers to the *best* endodontist I've ever been to (3 times now) in my 20 years of working in dentistry.

I recommend Dr. Cook, with confidence.

I found your blog very interesting. It may be of the interest to you to check out other great site that talks about complaints about veterinarians (http://www.veterinarycomplaints.com/).
Your pet deserves better care, and so do others'pets. Talk about your experiences with bad veterinary care centers and post your veterinary complaints at www.veterinarycomplaints.com
