More on snow removal
Dec. 14th, 2007 09:47 amWe're all probably sick of shovelling already, but if you haven't yet taken a few minutes to dig out any fire hydrants and storm drains near your place of residence or business, please consider doing so. Thanks.
Edit:
ron_newman also points out that clearing a pedestrian path at the crosswalk if you live on a corner is just darn nice.

Date: 2007-12-14 05:30 pm (UTC)None of the shovels have a metal edge which makes breaking ice and compacted snow very difficult. The non-metal edge is actually beneficial for shoveling out your car, but the cheaper shovels aren't suitable for scooping snow really (more for pushing). You had to step up to about $25 to get a suitable scooping shovel - which would again be useless if that snowbank had turned to ice.
Home depot might be a better bet if you can get there. Borrow a neighbors shovel to get out.
