Snow/Ice Removal Services

Our household just can't keep up with this crap this anymore, and our out-of-state landlord is letting us outsource the snow removal and possibly salting/sanding. Does anyone else hire a commercial service for this? Or alternately, a person with a snow blower who wants to earn some money? We can do the salting ourselves if need be. The online Yellow Pages lists 63 services that do this in Somerville. Any that you can personally recommend?

Our 2-unit condo association is trying to outsource snow removal, and it's a lot more trouble than you might expect. After calling and emailing about ten companies from Angie's List (none of whom actually got back to me), I found that the tenant of the mother of a neighbor did snow removal, and he agreed on a price per visit to clear our snow. Then, when I called during the first snowstorm, he was on vacation.

The only luck we've had has been seeing someone removing a neighbor's snow, then running outside with a few twenties to see if they were willing to exchange snow removal services for our money. As far as I can tell, people who use snowblowers professionally seem to have trouble with telecommunications.

A lot of them are just flat out booked up and don't want to take on new business. Unfortunately rather than having a message that says that or something, they just don't return calls.

The landlord decided to randomly choose someone from the Yellow Pages to try. Yipes though, $70 a pop for snowblowing/sanding. If they're good, I'll post about it.
