We took a tour the other day and asked about spinning. The girl said they were thinking about buying the 3rd floor of the building and expanding the club. The club is only 15K feet - small by BSC standards. But she said that nothing official has been said.

Did they happen to mention when the class schedule will be up and running (and posted on the BSC website)? It would be awesome if they were on the 3rd floor as well for more group exercise class alternatives...

I thought the third floor was being fitted out and rented as offices.

I asked them about this a few weeks back, since it seems like the clearly smart idea, even if it was only to fit in a couple more studios, and was told that yes, the local staff would love such a thing and has suggested it on up, they have zero expectation of it actually happening.

The girl on the tour said they had a schedule, but she didn't give one to us and we didn't ask. There is always someone at the front desk, they may be able to give you one if you walk in.

My thought as well, but she implied that it hadn't actually been leased yet and BSC was considering taking it. But, this is just what she told me, she may have been trying to give me the sell to that I'd join.

Bally's Porter Square updated some of their equipment in the last couple of months and generally spiffed up a bit. One of our neighbors thinks they are expecting to lose business to the Davis BSC.

I was told the same thing about the 3rd floor and it sounded very much like the lady just wanted me to join. Which I did... Spinning was an issue for me too, though. If you get their basic membership, you can use the other BSC locations on "off-peak" hours, which includes weekends. There's a BSC right off the T in Central Square that I believe has spinning on both Saturday and Sunday-- I'll be making that trip frequently!
