nutritionist and chiropractor?

I wish to seek the services of a nutritionist and a chiropractor. Does anyone have recommendations in the Davis Square area? I searched the archive but didn't find anything helpful.

My ideal for a nutritionist should be able to give a York blood test (which tells you your food intolerances) - I am NOT looking for a dietician. The chiropractor should be female and of the gentle adjustment rather than the crunch-crunch sort.

If you leave a suggestion please indicate which field it is in. Thanks in advance.

ETA: I called the Amethyst Center, mentioned in the previous post linked below, and they're not taking new patients.

No problem. I don't know how helpful those past entries are, but they're worth a look. I kept the "health care" tag since you are also asking about a nutritionist; unfortunately I don't see any past posts about that.

i'm new to this comm, and it doesn't help since i've never bothered to look at the Name of the place, but i have seen a chiropractic office on broadway street in ball square. it's by SoundBites and Kelly's Diner if you know where that is. i always find my back feels worse as i'm waiting there for the bus, usually with big heavy bags :P

You might try the Marino Center for Progressive Health over on Mass Ave just north of Cameron. I'm not sure about chiropracty, but they definitely have a staff nutritionist, and their doctors are a lot more likely to suggest or allow for non-standard practices (they have acupuncture and yoga, as well, and have since I moved up from CT in 2003).

Hey, that's a good idea. I went there for acupuncture a long time ago, and I liked them. They do seem to have chiropractors and a nutritionist on staff, although I never realized it before. I'll have to give them a call. Thanks!

This office is located closer to Porter than Davis - but is really great. I saw Dr. Hagan at Khalsa Chiropractic and he helped me tremendously. Located on Mass Ave.

hey....the answer to your question..I actually do know a very great local chiropractor...her name is Dr. Mong Van , www.simplewellspa.com . She is located on 1798A Massachusetts Ave. next to Rosie's cafe in the building next to paper source in Cambridge at porter sq. She's been treating me and my mom for a couple of weeks and we had excellent results. I love that she also integrates nutrition into her treatments and made us realize that w/o proper nutrition the body will not be able to heal as fast. She only prescribes organic, whole food supplements. A very simple concept, yet a lot of people don't realize it. Her adjustments are very gentle!!! it was scare you away :) here's is the number : 857-413-0591

One more thing...about your food intolerances...asked Dr. Van about her detox program..that may help you a great deal. It's helped me with some of my food allergies.

Just as a note for anyone following this thread, they do have a chiropractor but he's male.

You may not be paying much attention to this post anymore... but just in case, I was hoping you could tell me your thoughts and whether you found a female chiropractor you liked. I am looking for the same thing and would appreciate if you had some experience to share. Thanks!
