I'm hoping somebody can help me. After going to Ritz Camera (who had told me could do this and then I showed up and they couldn't), I'm beginning the search for a place that will take passport photos that are 35*45mm (British passport). Does anybody know a place that does non-US size passport photos in the area?

I'm sure either Cameras Inc or Errico Studio (?), both a few doors from Diesel in Davis Square, could take a photo and enlarge/shrink/crop it for you. It might cost more than a standard passport shop.

Might be worth checking Cameras Inc. right in Davis Square, but I have no idea if they can do this.

Perhaps the local British consulate has a list of suggested places?

That sounds like the kind of thing Cameras Inc. can do.

They can - I have a British passport and they did my pics.

They do. I did the pictures for my Russian passport (I think they are also 35x45mm or something like that) there and they didn't have any problems with that and said that they often do pictures for British passports too. They were very fast. The only downside is the price (I think $18 or so for 6 pictures 3x4cm is a little much), but that's probably the same everywhere.

another plus of having a "real" studio do the photographs: you are more likely to look like you than a recently revivified you. Yes, it may cost you more, but you have to live with those photos for 10 years.

I sent the same photos (from CVS) for my British passport renewal last year as I did for the American one, and they didn't seem to mind. (Apparently I didn't read the directions!)

Errico Studio is pretty good; I wouldn't be surprised if they could do it.

Just coming back to this post and thought I'd mention that the Canadian Embassy referred me to http://www.matildesphoto.com/ for photos. They're near at least the Canadian embassy, so it looks like they do a lot of these.
