Anyone know whether MLK day is observed by the city as regards trash pickup? The website says nothin'.

I'm pretty sure it is, but the DPW guide I can find was printed in March, so doesn't talk about the January & February holidays.

___________
You can find the list of trash holidays on the PDF for the recycling/DPW printout:

http://www.ci.somerville.ma.us/CoS_Content/documents/2007EnvironmentalServiceGuide.pdf

(This is the 2007 one, but I always assume the holidays will be the same the following year.)

Trash will not be picked up tomorrow, therefor it will be delayed a day all week.

My rule of thumb is that if there is no mail delivery, there will be no trash pickup.

Tom Champion himself answered this question last week. This is what he said:

MLK Day is a national holiday -- all trash pickups are delayed by one day throughout the week. BUT if you see a truck in your neighborhood on the regular day, don't panic: they'll be back again the next day. Really.
