Snow emergency lights yesterday

I know I saw the snow emergency light flashing yesterday in Ball square, and I think I also saw them flashing a few more times between there and McGrath (Magoun, Highland and McGrath?). There can't have been an emergency yesterday since there was no CTY call and no snow. Nevertheless, I parked my car way down the block to be on the odd side. Anyone know what happened?

A few times recently the lights have flashed with no snow emergency; I assume they're still working the bugs out of the system. The one time I called 311 to ask about it, I was told that it was a known problem.

The ball square light has been on everytime I've passed it. I think there has to be something wrong with it.

The light was flashing red on top of the Pru on my way home yesterday too. According to my SO, there was snow yesterday out in Framingham where he works - maybe the Pru and the Ball Square light were going off the same weather reports?

I thought that flashing red on the Pru was just bad weather, which there was. It rained.

According to the rhyme, steady red means rain and flashing red means snow, but I'm not surprised if weather forecasts get confused....

To be fair, it was a mix. There was snow in there. It just wasn't sticking.

"Rain mixed with snow" is probably a judgment call.
