This might be old news to y'all, but I checked out Grand tonight. I was glad I did. You will be, too.

Also, new comics shop, "Hub Comics." In the same area of the square as Neighborhood Restaurant.

Stopped by Grand as well and got some dog treats- they had some great things and I'll definitely go back. There is also a new dog supply/grooming/training place opening up near there. I forget the name, but it looks like it will be nice.

I thought this was a furniture store?

It is a mix of furniture, clothing, home decor, etc. They had a small table of dog stuff from the Polka Dog Bakery in the South End.

I went over to Hub Comics on Monday, and liked it quite a lot. They have tons of interesting books from all sorts of different publishers, arranged by subject instead of publisher or title (categories like fantasy, horror, sci-fi, non-fiction, slice-of-life), which makes it possible to browse without already having to know what you're looking for. They also have kid's section with chairs; the whole shop is pretty comfortable, and friendly to both women and kids. The manga section was scanty, although the guy staffing the shop promised they'll be getting in a lot more--they've only been open two weeks--but the actual manga on the shelves was a nice selection (they also had some used copies of out-of-print titles I've always coveted, half-price). There are weekly floppies, for them that wants 'em, and the guy I talked to was extremely friendly and open.

Definitely worth checking out if you're nearer to Union Square than Davis, more interested in general material than superhero books, female, or have children, or just like good comics shops.

I agree all the above about Hub Comics. Comfortable place. Plus, being right by Bloc 11, is pretty fine location.
