Hey, I'm looking for a good cheap dufflebag. The type you can get an an army surplus store (Do those still exist? Does the army HAVE any surplus? Were army surplus stores ever actually surplus from the army? are any of these questions relevant to my acutal point?)

Does anyone have any suggestions? I do have a car, so area isn't that relevant.

Thanks

There is an Army surplus store (http://www.yelp.com/biz_link?biz_id=TNQXe0DnhkFqeSBhOb2mfA) on Newbury St that has the duffel bag you seek... as well as the duffel bag's little siblings and older grandparents. As to your other questions... I can not help you young grasshopper.

Kenmore Army Navy Stores of Boston has one of the biggest stores I've ever run across, and it's on the edge of Downtown Crossing, so it's T accessible.

477 Washington St
(between Avon St & Summer St)
Boston, MA 02111

She's got a body like an hourglass, it's ticking like a clock. It's a matter of time before we all run out, When I thought he was mine she caught him by the mouth.

Though this last one is the most like Gentoo -- it's only as lightweight or fast as I'm capable of making it.

Seconded, good selection of stuff and I'm probably headed there myself to get a gear bag that doesn't suck.

That store is pretty awesome. I got into a great conversation with a guy working there about how boots these days are wussy, and back in the day, boots were BOOTS. I enjoyed that.

It's funny that they're still called "Kenmore" years after they moved out of that location.

You could go to Roach's Sporting Goods in Porter Square, 1957 Mass Ave. They say they carry duffles:

We carry backpacks, both internal and external frame, duffle bags in all sizes, sleeping bags for any weather conditions, foam pads and air mattresses, tents, stoves, freeze dried food and anything else you may need for that outdoor adventure.

They also carry rifles, guns, knives, and camouflage clothing, so it seems kind of Army/Navy even if it is a sporting goods store. Plus, the basement is full of tents. It's way bigger than it looks from the outside.
