For those of you who don't commute regularly from the Davis Square T-stop, there's a guy you see every morning. He looks like a normal guy on his way to work except for one thing: he's got a messenger bag with a big-ass laminated sign saying "9/11 TRUTH NOW!"

I guess he's been catching some hell for his sign, though, because now he's got an American flag taped to the top and a little printed sign taped to the bottom saying "And it wasn't George W. Bush or the U.S. Gov't!"

I wonder who he thinks it was, then?

I dunno, the 9/11 Truth Now crowd tends more towards the "non-obvious" (read: silly) like Israel or the "military-industrial complex." Depends on their political flavor.

Actually, I've heard people say such. Whether they were serious or sarcastic I remain, to this day, unsure. I suppose it's no more wacky than assuming a demolitions crew could, sight unseen, rig up enough explosives to implode a hundred-story building without the thousands of people going through both towers each day noticing anything.

I say this as a religious Jew and someone who had the misfortune of being there and watching it with my own eyes on that beautiful Tuesday morning in September. I have to live with being in Manhattan that day; seeing it, hearing it, smelling it. And I'm the lucky one because I didn't lose anybody I knew.

I would have a few choice words for him.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the death ray. That shit's a scream, considering the Pentagon has been chasing energy weapons for YEARS and all they have to show for it are dazzling lasers and the infamous "pain ray."

Yup. Basically the Pentagon zaps you with a microwave array that agitates the water molecules under your skin.

It's kind of hilarious, they've spent billions of dollars to make a clunky machine that gives you a burning sensation.

He looks like he's probably in his late mid twenties, he's reasonably good looking. probably somewhat of northern italianish heritage, though that's just based on his jaw line and his facial structure. He has blond curly hair and seems really quite shy, despite his sign.

(I used to commute with him nearly everyday, both ways, and I get easily bored and start wondering about people. I've considered striking up a conversation with him a few times.)

I've never seen this guy, but once again I saw the Fake Spare Change News vendor. He was trying to sell the paper to a young woman, when I interjected with "If you buy the paper from him, make sure he actually gives you the paper." This flustered him, and he then asked the woman for a cigarette, which she didn't have.
