Reminder: McIntyre & Moore is selling all books for 40% off today and tomorrow.

Starting this Thursday, March 13, all remaining books will be 50% off.

They expect Wednesday, March 19, to be their last day of business in Davis Square.

(See my earlier post about the store's impending move to 1971 Mass. Ave. in North Cambridge.)

ohhhh, good. I thought they were closing for good. Whew!!!!!

I'm on my way to Davis to have a welcome-home burrito at Anna's with my sis and then I'll head to the books and see what they have in the way of Russian/English lesson books.

It took me a while to overcome the temptation to reply to your comment with something crass, and I have to say that I'm quite proud of myself.

I get the feeling you don't get out of the area much. Just FYI, it's a slang expression used pretty heavily by the Tex/Mex, most of whom are Catholics, and it can either be used as a phrase of admiration or of one expressing dismay.

Well, since I learned it from a bunch of Catholics who worship Jesus as the Son of God, obviously we have different opinions. Thanks for playing and we have a lovely box of Rice-A-Roni, the San Francisco treat, as a lovely parting gift for you.

How on Earth is it rude? As [livejournal.com profile] sonofabish says, many very devout Christians use it all the time.

Because unless I'm missing something, we don't have any major holidays in the US with baby Mohammad, baby Abraham, or baby Buddha at the center of them.

Baby Mithra, arguably.

You make Baby Buddha angry with your poor spelling.

I take it Baby Buddha is still Baby Siddhartha, and has not yet learned to let go of earthly desires and emotions.

Thank god (I'm sorry, was that offensive?)! I keep not having a chance to run in and take advantage; must do so SOON.

...have ever read Saiyuki? The manga by Kazuya Minekura? That sounds remarkably like Sanzo's style of Buddhism.

Sorry, no. Not really into manga/anime, although a lot of my friends are. But that doesn't mean I can't envision a pissed-off Buddha packing a 9mm looking to plink a few folks.
