Selling jewelry?

I have a couple of pieces of fine jewelry (gold, platinum, precious gems and such) that I'd like to sell. I want to get a decent price for them. Does anyone know of a good place to sell such things in Somerville or Cambridge?

There isn't one.

If you want a fair price for used jewelry, you'll need to go downtown to the Jewelers' District.

My jeweller, Florin Ghita in the Jewelers Building, Downtown Crossing at 333 Washington (5th floor) buys gold. I just got $400 for about a half ounce. Don't know about the gems though but they'll know who will buy them if they don't.

Just saw the price of silver, and I'm inclined to unload a small stash of pre-1964 quarters and dimes. I'll have to call to see if they're buying...
