Apr. 15th, 2004 07:59 pmThe OPENAIR Circus is a Somerville based non-profit organization which offers children an opportunity to learn and perform circus arts and other performance skills. We offer 5 weeks of classes followed by a set of performances where the children get to show off their new or improved skills. Our classes from last year included: Clowning, Diabolo, Juggling, Stage Combat, Set Design, Stilting, Tae Kwon Do, and Unicycling.
The classes start on June 29th, run one hour a week for 5 weeks, and the conclude a week before the performances, allowing for a week to bring the individual skits together for the performances on August 5th, 6th, and 7th.
We are looking for a few good teachers to come and help us make our 20th summer season great. If you know any performance skill you would be interested in teaching youths of ages anywhere from 3 through 16, please contact us at peter_jehlen@openaircircus.org or 617-947-1191. Volunteer positions and a few paid positions available.
