2008 Zombie March

Hello Undead Friends...

As there was little progress made in a previous thread about this year's Zombie march (which seems at this point to be non-existant, due to lack of the previous organizers' web presence and publicity)- I'd like to ensure that we've got a zombie march in which to lurch.

I'm happy to make some fliers if anyone would like to print them out and distribute them soon. The thing I'd like to establish is the date. A Saturday night is optimal, from 4:00 at Davis until 7ish in Central at perhaps the People's Republic for a gathering spot.

I'd like to do this on April 26th, anyone want to help out by publicizing? Any serious qualms?


I'll decide on the logistics in about a week, once people have added their two cents, then create a suitably undead poster for distribution unless a fabulous graphic designer/artist would like to lend their skills.

IFF in town

Independent Film festival at the Somerville, which means that if your march happens on this date, it'll probably get a lot of indy coverage.

However, a lot of the usual zombie crowd may also be film buffs, like me, and too busy with the festival to go off and lurch.

That's also NEFFA weekend, this year in Mansfield. There's probably some overlap between Zombies and the NEFFA types.

You DO realize that both IFF Boston AND ROFLcon are already fighting for part of the same audience that weekend? And that these are both activities that people who would be attracted to this even are likely to be enaged in?

part of posting this was to do exactly what is being pointed out- find problems in the time i was thinking the zombie march could happen.

I'm trying to plan...er, something for a few of us zombies that want to partake in the march this year. My vote is for May only 'cause it gives people more time to prepare.

Well, I would organize it, except that I don't have the contacts to get in touch with the police force that is on for help and all the legal stuff.

oh, neither do i. i suspect it's all in just notifying the police, it's been done for two years, i'm sure they just need prior notice.

I don't know if it's really all that easy. I'm sure that there would at the very least be a need for a peacful assembly license or somethingorother.... I really don't know anything about the legalities... do we know who ran the last 2? I found a guy on myspace that looked to be an integral part of the last 2 and sent him a friends request, so hopefully he'll get back to me.

Hope you don't mind strangers posting but I happen to be googling the march and found this post. Wanted to let you know about a facebook event that I also happened upon planned for May 24th. It doesn't seem to have been completely planned out, as the logistics of meeting/ending locations aren't posted.
