I went to pay a parking ticket and there was an additional one on my account which did not get. It says the date and violation, but I did not receive a paper copy. So I'm a little confused...any advice?
well it's a "RESTR ZONE" violation on the street I live on, so it makes some sense; however, I always park in the same couple places and never got a ticket there before. i'll probably just pay it, but it's just odd, because it's dated the same day as the other ticket.
They should be able to print the other ticket out for you. It should have an address on it -- see if the address is one where you are likely to park, and whether there's some sign there that you violated.
311 should be able to help since it tends to go to the parking office by default.
I had that happen and tried to contest it (since I still don't believe I was parked where they say I was) but there were communication problems. In the end, I managed to get them down to paying just the basic fine, which was useful since by the time any of the notices actually got to me, the total had more than doubled.
Yes, I have contested one down to the basic fine... if you didn't get the paper and are polite and sincere about it you can do that, although you may have to go to traffic and parking to contest in person so you'll have to decide if it's worth your time.
The other day I picked up a ticket and envelope from the ground and put them back on the car they had evidently blown off of. It kind of sucks that that happens sometimes.
Tickets don't always stay on cars. About once a week, a ticket will blow onto my driveway or front steps. (I don't own a car, so the tix aren't for me.)
If both tickets are from the same day and from the same location, perhaps you got a ticket, that ticket blew off the car and a meterperson came by later in the day and gave you another ticket because there was no ticket on your car. So maybe you should have only got one ticket.
I would suggest you get a copy of both tickets, see if this might be possibly what happened and then appeal to pay only one ticket. Just be sure to be very polite whenever you speak to anyone at Parking.

So mostly I suggest dealing ASAP.
