We're moving out to the 'burbs and we're helping our landlady find new tenants!

The apartment is the entire first floor of a multi-family home located on Banks St, one of the quiet side streets between Summer and Elm (it's next to Willow) and right by Shaw's marketplace area in Porter Square. It's about a 4 minute walk to Porter, and it's less than 10 minutes to get to Davis Square, and we walk to both often.

The apartment is incredibly huge, our estimate is 1400 sq ft. Features include:
2 large bedrooms
1 bathroom
living room
full-size dining room
HUGE eat-in kitchen, with lots of counter space and shelves
2 storage closets
free washer/dryer in the basement (shared with other tenants)
dishwasher
gas stove

There is plenty of space to store your stuff in this apartment. One of the storage closets is more like a walk-in pantry that is right off our kitchen -- we store our 5 bikes, leftover storage boxes, 2 stacking shelf bookcases of our tools/various crap, that kind of thing. You have to see it to believe it.

The parking situation is fine. There's plenty of (permit) parking on the street and the place has a driveway that can fit up to 5 cars for those pesky snow emergencies and street sweepings. Usually we park on the street, and it's no problem coordinating with the tenants for the driveway. One tenant only uses his car on the weekends, so he's fine being parked in all week. Usually there's 2-3 cars in the driveway, everyone moves their cars to the streets when they are leaving the house for the day, not a big deal.

The bedrooms and the living room are carpeted, the dining room is hardwood, the kitchen is obviously not carpeted either.

There's a backyard to the place -- half of it is grass but the other half is a garden. I think the 2nd floor tenants use it, but I'm sure that it's available for all tenants. There's also a back porch to put a bbq grill.

The landlady is cool, we've never really had a problem but she's easy to get a hold of. We had one maintenance issue and the maintenance guy is the landlady's brother; he came right over and helped us out.

The rent is $1700/mo, which is a deal for the amount of space you get. I don't know about pets; we don't have any so we didn't ask. The apartment is available June 1st but we plan on moving out mid-May so we can arrange for the new tenants to move in a little early if necessary for free, no worries. We'll even throw in free curtains for one of the bedrooms, custom-made by my mom (if you like curtains with roses on it -- they do the job at least)!

Sorry I don't have official pics of the place -- if interested let me know and I can upload some.

If interested, email me at amy dot sia at gmail dot com or leave a reply, and I'll put you in touch with the landlady.

Thanks!
