Dear friends of davis_square,

The poll results officially ended at a tie, so as a benevolent dictator, I went ahead and chose Joe Sent Me. We will try to have an event at Redbones in July.

They have agreed to have us there and they will provide us with some appetizers. We don't have a date just yet, but it will probably be sometime around the middle of the month.

Its a very cool bar, friendly people, great beer/ cocktail selection, and they have perhaps the best burgers around (so stay and eat dinner). I'll let you know when I have more info.

The bar is literally just a 5 minute walk from Davis Square on Mass Ave. If you are coming from outside the Davis Square area, its right off the 77 bus line (one stop passed Century Bank).

I love this bar and I think the bar feels the same way about me.

Great pick! A bunch of us from Theatre@First hung out there one night last summer after a show, and they were super nice to us.

One of the owners are there most nights and so they really get to know the customers. All the bartenders are really friendly as well. Its a shame I don't work in that area anymore because I really miss hanging out there.

For scheduling purposes, if I'm reading the schedule correctly there aren't any Red Sox games July 14-17th, so maybe it'll be less crowded during that week. Just a thought.

That's because it's the All-Star break. The All-Star game is Tuesday, July 15, and every team has at least the day before and the day after that off.

Those are the two quietest sports days in the US. No baseball, football pre-season hasn't started yet, hockey and basketball are over. Not even any Major League Soccer on those days.

But we don't really need to be scheduling July's meetup just yet.
