Yes! Snappy Sushi is INDEED open today! And if you go in today, you get a 10% off any roll coupon!

The sushi is delicious, even with the brown rice. The only thing that's weird is the set up. There's just one big table in the middle of the place, and the sushi bar. No individual tables or anything. I don't know if this is how it will be permanently, but it stuck me as a little weird.

So yes! Just wanted to spread the word that they're open and yummy and giving out coupons.

So the name is definitely Snappy, not Shino Express?

Gee. A whole 10% off of one roll? Now I can go afford 10% of a latte down the street at Starbucks.

I got a junk snail-mailing from Starbucks with a card that's good for a free 12 ounce coffee every Wednesday from today through May 28. Did you?

No, but I must have it. Name your price. I'll pay anything.

Presumably they want to be a takeout place, hence the lack of seating.

Yep, I was their first customer at lunch today. The space is very nice, light and airy with some nice flower arrangements. There is only one very large wooden table with seating for 12: four along each long side and two on the ends. There are also 4 stools at the sushi bar, and 4 chairs for waiting for take-out.

I tried the tuna tataki salad and was underwhelmed; it had 4 pieces of tuna, and while the menu said they were "torched" I had expected them to be much rarer, as tataki usually is. I also tried a few nigiri, just to see how the brown rice was. They're definitely different from regular sushi, but actually pretty good, and I'm not a huge brown rice fan. And while the salad was overpriced at $10, the nigiri were only $1 each, very reasonable. Plus they serve free green tea.

Could be that they only have a permit for as many seats as La Contessa had, otherwise they would need (more, non-existent) parking spaces.

do NOT like the brown rice! they really should offer a white rice option for those who prefer the white rice. it's too bad - otherwise i'd totally love them!

Ditto. The brown rice does not work. It overpowers the fish (even "fishy" species like saba) and has a disappointing grittiness. I'm not against brown rice in general, just in sushi.

And here I am loving the brown rice. I guess everyone has different taste buds! (I went there yesterday, and for $35.00 had a great time, and a filled tummy.) It's too bad they only have "standard" sushi, none of the fancy fish: no ama ebi, no toro, no chutoro, etc. But it was all yummy, brown rice and all.
