i really think this sort of post should stay off the davis_square community. it's just advertising for a business, and orleans seems to be a repeat offender.
Really? I know the host of the Rock Band nights posts here to advertise those events, but my impression is that a lot of the Orleans talk around here is from patrons recommending it in comments, etc. I just don't remember seeing all that many ad-like posts. But maybe they're there and just not bothering me, so they don't stick in my mind.
I'd do a search to see, but I'm supposed to be working right now. Back to it!. ;)
If you're referring to the Rock Band posts, I apologize. Usually they're once every 2 weeks, but we're doing a special one this week (which is why we're doing it 3 weeks in a row). If y'all feel spammed by it, though, I can stop.
Also, I should point out that I don't actually work for Orleans, I just host the Rock Band night.
I think what you post is fine. You can't please everyone. For some people, the great satan of a business should never be mentioned anywhere or anytime.
Well, if CVS started advertising here I'd strongly object, but Orleans is a local business. As are Magpie and Boloco and Kick*ss, to name a few other businesses that have promoted themselves here without major complaint.
i don't mind the occasional posting about a business opening or what have you. it's just that there seems to be a lot of posting specifically about orleans, and it drives me a little nutty.
i appreciate postings from local businesses, it's kickass. i find it endearing that i have insider info from the source, even about the small but cool things like an open patio- which i was thinking about that the other day, actually :)
To the best of my knowledge, this is the only post, ever, made by an Orleans employee about the restaurant.
I didn't intend for this post to be an advertisement so much as to just let people know that the patio is finally open. It's not like I linked to the restaurant or posted cocktail prices or anything like that. As a Davis Square resident, I genuinely feel that some community members would like to know about the patio opening for the summer.
