I'm going to go ahead and post this now. I'm going to be away from the computer from 10am till probably 1 or 2pm, so if I missed something we talked about, sorry.

Honorable mention has to go to the beloved Pinky's. But alas, they are more than 1 mile from the square.

Thanks to a suggestion from [livejournal.com profile] lonelyholiday, if for some reason you didn't vote by want to see the results, you can click here.

When we get pizza it's usually from Pinky's.

diMio (di, yes?) is less than a mile from Davis?? Is there one closer than the one between porter and harvard?

Pinky's does deliver :)

Also the list doesn't include City Slickers which is just outside of Porter going towards Union.

Yes, it may well be that the best pizza eaten by those in Davis Square comes from...outside Davis Square! I am a fan of City Slicker and Dial-A-Pizza. :)

yeah, i disagree with some of the mileage listed... from my house (just outside davis) to porter is 1.0 miles, and dimio is on the far side of porter, making it over a mile... but someone used google maps which showed it as .8 miles? I would think anything on the far side of Porter shouldn't really be counted. (but i'm just bitter because what i think is the best pizza was counted out due to mileage (Pini's)). :)

They deliver and it's freaking delicious!

Admittedly I tend to find one place and stick with it, but goddamn do I love Christo's. The pesto pizza alone makes it win for me.

I'm writing in for Caffe Rossini. Late night, as far as I know, only Pizza Days is open, so they get some props for exploiting an untapped market.

Another point on the magic 1.2 mile radius..... hmmmmm.

It really depends. Davis square pizza makes my favorite pepperoni pizza, but I don't like their other toppings as much. My answer is different if I'm looking for some veggies on my pizza.

Pini's is by far the best (Winter Hill).

You forgot a "none of the above" or "other" option. For those of us who only eat pizza within a certain radius of the city of New York.

When I get pizza, I get it delivered from City Slickers also. Because the pizza in the square is, unfortunately, crap.

Well, no, the poll is "Best Pizza located in or around Davis Square". Nobody cares whether pizza here isn't good enough for you. No back to New York and shut up.

Thanks, I'll take that under consideration. Do you want me to send you a pie when I get there?

I rarely eat pizza in the US, mainly because it's - in general - god fucking awful, but I've had pizza delivered from City Slicker and I have to say they're decent. Not good pizza, but edible pizza.

Anything in the square? Forget it. To be fair, I'm from Italy where we actually know how to bake pizza and select toppings that do not involve, oh, pineapple, just to name one. Ugh.

While we're talking about pizza, does anyone know if any of the local pizza joints have weekly specials? When I lived in Malden, our local pizzeria had a buy-one-get-one-free special on Tuesdays, and that led to a lot of pizza on Tuesdays for us.

Agreed- apparently it is "too far" from Davis to be included, but it's so worth the extra tenth of a mile.

Some folks blame Greece, since all of the numerous local "House of Pizza" places are Greek.
