Redbones' 12th annual bicycle party and benefit is tonight, on Chester Street from 5 to 9 pm. Your $15 ticket gets you food & drink, bicycle valet parking, music, and (if you arrive before 7:30) a raffle ticket. Be there!

(note: postponed from last Monday 5/12 due to expected rain, which didn't actually occur)

I will be there celebrating with my other birthday friend! I'm looking forward to it.

Too bad they didn't have it last Monday, when it was originally scheduled. What a cold and gloomy day!

Alas, I won't be there. To many potentially uncomfortable situations wandering around there for me.

But everyone else should have lots of fun and win lots of awesome bike goodies!

It was a bit chilly and breezy -- but at least it was dry and reasonably sunny.

I live on Chester and was kind of craving Redbones for dinner before I heard of this. Does anyone know if they're open for regular business, or if I went to the bicycle party, would I be chastised given that I'm too uncoordinated to be a cyclist?

Lots of people show up -not- clad in I'm-a-cyclist garb, so I wouldn't worry about it. That is, I don't know if they are open for normal business, but no one will give you a weird look for going to the bike party in normal person clothing. (They used to give all the neighbors free tickets, which is how I went in past years, but I haven't seen any this year. Wah. I mean, I do bike, but if I'm going to pay $15 for Redbones food, I'm going to get something other than the stuff they do for the bike party.)

Thanks for the info. So it's not the good stuff in terms of food, huh? I kind of imagined gorging on Texas ribs for $15.

I don't even own a bicycle and I am going.

For these events, they usually do a buffet of apps and some pulled pork. This is enough to lure me (you also get a drink ticket, IIRC), personally :). FRIED OYSTERS HERE I COME.

They do have delicious fried oysters on the regular menu.

... I could be thinking of the wrong event. At the last Redbones event I attended, fried oysters were part of the deal. However, that may have been another benefit.

But I am most certainly not complaining about ribs and brisket!!!!!!!

Thanks for mentioning it here. I'd forgotten but I went down and had a great time and supported a good cause as well!
