free candy when you get gas at Hillside

The other day I got gas at Hillside Auto Repair, a little shop on Broadway just past Ball Square. It's near a Gulf and kind of across from the 7-Eleven.

Anyway, the very nice man who owns the shop gave me a handful of candy. I wanted to be sure he did it every time (and I wanted more candy) so I went back today and left with a hearty handful of candy. Full-service for the same price as pumping it yourself, plus candy and he washed my windshield. Now that's service!

They're also really good repair guys. I say really good because when I needed something fixed they brought me back into the shop and actually pointed out the stuff under my car while it was raised up on the platform. They get extra points for being really nice as well as reasonably priced.

That's good to know! I haven't taken my car there for repairs yet, but I'd be sad if the free-candy place turned out to be a rip-off repair shop.

I think the free candy might only apply when you're a girl, but I can't be sure--not being a guy and never having been there in the company of guys! That's just the feeling I get.

I am a guy and I'm happy to report that I got candy as well. Later I went back with my girlfriend and got candy again. Decent candy, too...

I dunno. They gave my son candy one time, when I went there for a tire change. Though to be fair, he was a baby at the time and his gender probably wasn't very obvious. But I must admit I thought it was kind of creepy.
