Dress for success (http://www.dressforsuccess.org/affiliate.aspx?sisid=14&pageid=1) is a non-profit that takes interview and work clothes in good condition and gives/sells them to homeless or poor women for job interviews.
If you're lazy like me (or carless and with more than you can carry), Big Brothers/Big Sisters will pick up clothing from your house to sell at their thrift shop. They make neighborhood rounds every month or so, but you can sign up on their website and they'll email you when they're gonna come by. http://www.bbbs.org
I hope you'll consider donating to a local organization that supports local organizations. Second Chances is co-sponsoring a clothing drive with the Somerville Community Growing Center on June 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Growing Center. Details at www.secondchances.org . Thanks.
The psychiatric units at Cambridge Hospital often provide clothing for patients there whose clothing is damaged or inaccessible. They rely on donations.
