Just got a robocall from Nstar, there's going to be some scheduled power outage in West Somerville between 12am-6am Tuesday morning. I'd appreciate it if someone who has it on the answering machine could post the exact wording; my brain wasn't quite registering it.

Addendum: I'm on HIghland between Willow and Cedar, and we lost power yesterday from 7:15-9:30pm and again this morning from 10:15-11ish am.

Time to check the battery in the ol' alarm clock.

There was already an outage from 6:30ish to 9:30ish last night...

I'm on Spencer Ave, and it was from about Willow to Lowell on Highland. It actually wasn't that bad since it came back on before I had to go to bed and it caused neighbors to come out of their hot houses and socialize, but I really hope it doesn't happen again tonight.

We had an outage in the Ball Sq area between 6:30 and 8:30.

Heck, I don't mind about the A/C (we don't have it anyway), but I'd really like the food in my refrigerator to stay cool!

It'll be fine, the last time this happened, we went over that in detail.

Oh god, I'd forgotten about that, and had to go back and remind myself how batshit the entire freakout got.

Considering that last time the "six hour outage" was more along the lines of "six minutes," go ahead, but I think the ice solution is lot more proactive.

My upstairs neighbor and I walked to Lowell (in search of cold soda) and that was where the power started being on.

There was one on Pearson (not the one by Tufts).

About where do you live? I just checked my voicemail, but there was no robo-call. (I'm at Day and Orchard streets. We did not lose power last night.)

It's unlikely the call said that the power was going to be off for six hours; it most likely said that the power was going to be off for some period of time during those six hours.

Oh, dear. Per Tom Champion's post of the actual text, it seems it really is going to be a six-hour outage this time.

Glad I have a battery-operated alarm clock...

What are the parameters of the outage?

I haven't gotten a robocall, but I got caught in the outages last night and this morning. (Great for a stay-at-home mom with a toddler in a big brick oven... I mean building...)

Does anyone know where, exactly, the outage tonight will take place?
I live on Highland just east of Cedar street, basically next to the fire station. I'm praying that we're too far from Willow for it to affect us.

We just called NStar and the dimwit we got told us that there was no planned outage at all, nope, not even a little bit, for our area tonight. We read her the text from the blog and she still had no clue what we were talking about.

Good to know that our power company is so on top of things.

If you pay your NSTAR bill under the name you've listed on Live Journal, then you're definitely NOT on the list I received. That's encouraging, but no guarantee: the list may not be definitive, or your NSTAR bill may be paid under a different name, or the outage may reach farther than even NSTAR thinks . . .

At least NSTAR is trying to call. That's a relatively recent innovation for them -- or it's something they'll only do if the list is short enough.

Good luck.
