i just perused the archives about swimming and with great joy, i learned about the tufts pool. i called the city of medford and season passes are only $15 (yay!) but only for medford residents (boo!). alas, i am a somervillian through and through. does anyone know if there's any way for non-medford residents to use the pool? or if there is some way to circumvent this whole pesky resident thing? i have spent the morning daydreaming about swimming during my lunch break and now my dreams have been crushed.

Date: 2008-06-11 07:10 pm (UTC)Because this always comes up: there are researchers doing work in the Lake who have attested to its cleanliness and safety for swimming. As with all natural swimming areas, though, it's advisable to avoid swimming in the day or two after heavy rains!

Date: 2008-07-19 05:38 pm (UTC)You will get an id card with your picture, weight, height, eye color, hair color (all self reported) and your picture is like a mug shot complete with your pool pass number, you can swim the same afternoon with your receipt but you'll get a laminated card the next day.
