6/25/08 Edited to add: He's missed two doses of his meds and might very well have a seizure. If he is about to have a seizure he might act strange -- running back and forth, meowing a lot, turning in circles, etc. And during/after the seizure, he might look like he's foaming at the mouth, but it's NOT rabies -- he's had his shots. It's just from the seizures and losing control of his muscles.
Sunday, June 29: He's home now, safe and sound! Someone saw him over on Chandler Street this morning and called. She got him to come into her house and fed him. He seems in good shape -- a bit shaken, and quiet, but hasn't lost any weight. I just gave him his meds. He's quietly wandering around, being given treats, and being groomed by my other cat. I'm going to have him checked out at the vet's this week. Thanks so much to everyone who expressed concern! We are so happy he's back.

Date: 2008-06-26 03:25 pm (UTC)When my exgirlfriend's cat got outside, we literally spent all day with his favorite treats, just walking around and calling for him. He eventually returned. Also, my mom's trick is to sprinkle some of the dirty cat litter with urine and feces in it on the ground. If the animal is lost or disoriented, then it'll smell its own scent and try to move towards that.
