Good Time Emporium Meetup tomorrow
Jun. 26th, 2008 11:43 amHaving spammed this to
b0st0n and
somervillemass, that leaves y'all.
Where?
Good Time Emporium, 30 Assembly Square Drive
When?
Tomorrow, 6/27/08, starting at 7pm.
Who should I be looking for?
The stunningly charismatic guy at the bar in a black T-shirt that says "Pandemonium Erupts in Central Square" who also has the nametags and the sharpies.
What have they got?
Arcade games, pool, air hockey, darts, batting cages, go-karts, a carnival ride, cheap 'n sleazy food, and, of course, booze (don't go in expecting microbrews, the best you're gonna get is Sam).
How do I get there?
The nearest T-stop is Sullivan Square on the Orange, and the 90 bus will stop right in front of the place (a quick check of the schedule shows that the 90 will leave Davis at 6:50, so you can arrive in relative comfort and fashionably late). The 89 and 101 also run nearby, although I'd go straight to Sullivan. It's about a half a mile walk from Sullivan. It's not the prettiest area, but it's completely desolate after 5pm except for cars racing by anyway.
How much does it cost to get in?
Nothing, but if you want to play games you should bring cash to turn into tokens. There's an ATM on premises but you pay for the privilege of using it. The games run from 1 to 5 tokens.
What kind of arcade games have they got?
A pretty good range, actually. There are a lot of shooting and racing games from the last ten years or so, but they also have some classics like "Galaga" or "Ninja Turtles".
See you there!
EDIT: DOH! I forgot to mention, I'm getting there via the 89, which leaves from the busway at about 6:30. I'm actually meeting a few other folks there as well, so if you want in, just swing by the busway at 6:30.
