Tons of firetrucks and emergency vehicles at the intersection of Orchard and Russell right now in between Davis and Porter Squares and the streets are blocked off. A bystander told me apparently lightening struck one of the houses earlier today and nearly caught fire. Anyone have any more info? Hope everyone's ok. None of the houses looked charred but the emergency response presence is so huge looks like it was serious.

Wouldn't be the first time for that neighborhood. A few years ago, lightning struck the brick apartment building at the northeast corner of Orchard and Day.

yes, apparently that was only a small fire. [or so i hear.] over here in cambridgeport however, there was a pretty big one, and the street is still blocked off and news crews are here. i don't think anyone was home but heard they do have dogs, i hope they're ok :/

We were right under it and felt the electromagnetic field---very exciting but I am really, really glad we were in the car and not yet outside. The ambulance appeared to leave without anyone inside...

Oh holy crap. I live within a block of that, and I knew some of the lightning was practically right on top of me; I did not know it had actually struck a house :( Combined with one or two other storms RIGHT ON TOP of us lately, I'm really, really not liking this weather.
