Lexington isn't listed, so I wonder if they'll go ahead with their fireworks show tonight.

Date: 2008-07-02 04:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] library-sexy.livejournal.com
It is only listed until 1pm today.

Not saying another storm might not develop but this one should not effect fireworks that are planned for 9pm or so.

Oy. I didn't bring an umbrella today because I saw only a 20% chance of rain predicted, and mostly sunny skies. Hopefully I'll still be able to run some errands in an hour or so and not get soaked/hailed on.

I work in Cambridge, I was just outside and saw nothing but dark grey in the distance. Do your errands NOW.

Wee! Hail and heavy rain and sheets of wind in Waltham! our building is on aux power. The hail was about the size of golf balls, and the cars are dented. We were wondering if the windows were going to hold, the rain was coming through the closed windows last week.

1 pm, it's in Malden. Impressive lightning, amazing sheets of rain, clunking hail, and really neat watching that cloud come this way...and I do have some windows at home open.

erm... i wish i had read this about 20 mins before the cause of the lengthy post i had to make! not that it would have helped as somehow none of the windows got poked out.

i just can't believe how fast it raged damage! through comment timelines, seeing how quick it progressed is alarming.
i was talking with a friend in brighton, commenting on the sun and she was saying she thought it was raining there. 5 mins later i can hardly see anything in my room it was so dark. and 10 mins later, tree meets house :P

and in mere hours, a friendly crane will join the party!

I saw this post and RAN to the farmers market at Government Center a full hour before I planned to. Wind picked up just as I was going back into the office.

But the importnant thing is, I have my sugar peas and my cookie. Thanks!

Right now in the North End, very dark clouds are passing directly over without producing any rain. That could change any minute, though.

Weird. I never would have imagined people go to the Davis Square blog to find out the weather.

We go to this blog for completely idiotic things all the time. Going online to talk about the electrical directly storm overhead is just a mild example. :-)

It's been hailing on-and-off up here near Teele Square. The hailstones look to be the size of cocoa puffs.

Mmmmm... cocoa puffs

As long as they aren't the same color, then I think we're okay.

Now I just hope my garden is okay.

It's dry and sunny in Kendall Square, but from my office window I can see the apocalyptic death cloud looming over downtown Boston. Something tells me I won't be lulzing for long.

Weather usually moves west to east around here. The sun is already back out in the North End, and we didn't get a drop of rain.

I stood in the middle of this at the farmer's market (helping one booth hold onto its tent) and then got to ride the bus home sopping wet. good times. got some delicious strawberries though.

also belmont! my coworker went outside about fifteen minutes ago to make sure his car wasn't dented. (it was small hail, but still.) on the plus side, it's over now.

We drove in it from Burlington to Arlington, coming down Rt.2 it was quite scary. The sound and SIZE of the hail scared the crap out of my 12 yr old.

Storm finally arrives in the North End

Lots of thunder and lightning, but no wind whatsoever. The rain is falling completely vertically.

I think you got the followup storm, not the main one. There was a good steady rain about 20 minutes or so after the first monsoon ended.
