You want a robo-call every time the police get a report of someone being attacked? Even in the cases where no suspects have been identified, that's a lot of robo-calls.
Well, what do you have doubts about? Are you doubting that the suspect who has been apprehended is the attacker? Or are you doubting that the police have apprehended a suspect at all?
If it's one of those "Mayday, Mayday, be on the lookout for x,y,z" calls that gets put out to neighboring towns, and it's a serious crime that happened a few minutes ago right down the street from me, then yes.
A street full of angry residents going to their windows and porches, is a safe street.
The Channel 5 report says that the suspect also matches the description of the person involved in the Powderhouse assault last week. Putting aside for the moment the whinging about robocalls and the OP's oversight in not stating the judicial maxim of innocent until proven guilty, I say good on the police for their quick action, and good on the two victims for going to the police.
I'd be generous enough to allow them to call me before dawn up to half an hour before the tornado, personally. Of course, being technically in Medford, I don't get any robo-calls.
Are you perhaps on the Medford side? We don't get Somerville robo-calls. In fact, I can't recall ever getting a robo-call, or a Tom Champion call, at that. The most we get is the occasional loudspeaker truck in winter blaring "MOVE YOUR CARS".
Of course, I also live on a bizarre, possibly vaguely non-Euclidean back road serviced only by the squamous cultists of Comcast, where Verizon and AT&T dare not go and civilization has forgotten us almost completely, so your mileage may vary.
