Anyone know of a place to buy flowers in or near Davis Square.? (not crazy expensive flowers....) And/or does the Shaw's Market @ Porter carry a decent line of flowers? Thanks!
there's a florist at Willow & Highland, but I'm forgetting the name.
the Porter Square location is ok, but they're still grocery flowers, and will die in 3 days.
There is also Flowers on the Avenue, on Somerville Ave., just a 2m walk south of Porter. I've never bought from them, but the people are really lovely.
Definitely go with Murphy's!!! They'll put together gorgeous bouquets no matter your price range. It's so much nicer getting flowers locally than spending crazy cash on a "bouquet" via flowers.com etc. too.I'm always delighted with Murphy's.
I third this recommendation - my favorite flowers come from Nellie's.
Edited to add: At Nellie's you can just say how much you want to spend and give a general idea of colors/flowers you like and get an awesome arrangement.
Murphy's has a website. You should google them. That will give you an idea of their prices. Also Shaws sed to have flowers in a walk in refrigerator. It smelled so good in there. I'm not 100% sure if they still have that though but they might and they do still sell flowers.
