HP Printer Power Cable

Hi I'm looking to buy or get a free HP Printer Power Cable/adapter.  My model is C5180, however I'm pretty sure most HP power cables that have the three little circles at the end will work with my printer.  Anyone have a broker printer they don't need that I can harvest?  I've tried to deal with with HP customer service to no avail, and their printer cables are proprietary.

Do you mean a MickeyMouse IEC type power cable? If so all you need to do is go over top Microcenter on Mem drive and get an adaptor for a regular IEC cable that most monitors and PCs use.

Which part of the cable are you looking for? If you already have the power brick and are just looking for the IEC cable to go into it then it's not a proprietary cable. You can get it from MicroCenter or any Radio Shack.

No, unfortunately its not that type, it is proprietary and I have checked microcenter. Its like a small rectangle with three holes in it.

I'm looking for the whole power supply. When my apartment was broken into last year they left the printer but took the power cable, I think the thought it was my laptop cable. So I have a printer and no cable. I posted a link to an image above. Thanks!

Weird, my HP printer (all in one) just uses a barrel connector for the low voltage DC.

Try freecycle?

I'd try a WANTED message to the Somerville and/or Cambridge freecycle lists. They're (should I say we're? :-) the kind of people who don't want to throw that sort of thing out.

In fact I thought I had one of those around from a friend's defunct printer, but checked my "random transformers" box and it's not there - sorry.

Which part of the cable are you looking for? If you already have the power brick and are just looking for the IEC cable to go into it then it's not a proprietary cable. You can get it from MicroCenter or any Radio Shack.

I've been dying to find out what type of connector is used for this cable. I don't need the power brick, just the identity of the connector on the end... the connector that plugs into the printer.

I've posted pics I took of the connector at CNET.com and TomsHardware.com and I've shown the cable to a Best Buy worker, and no-one can identify it. I even promised the forum users a paid reward for the identity of the connector, but no answer.
