Lost dog....still searching for Cleo.
Aug. 11th, 2008 04:30 pmLost dog. Cleo has been missing since July 23rd.
She ran away from Fletcher Field on Tufts campus during a thunderstorm. She has been sighted a number of times since then, but I have not been able to find her.
35-40 lbs. Reddish/tan/brown. Mixed breed, female dog. She has big floppy ears.
She is very shy and timid with humans, but loves other dogs.
If you see her PLEASE don't chase her. If you can follow her quietly or watch where she goes that would be very helpful. It she is staying in one place, you could try putting some food out near her and then step back. Speak softly and move slowly. She loves other dogs, so if you have a friendly one, this might be a good way to break the ice.
She is likely to be hiding under bushes or shrubs and coming out to find food at night or early morning. If you see a dog looking through trash in your neighborhood that might match her description PLEASE call me or animal control.
I can be reached at 978-697-6973 any time of day or night.
And thank you to all the MANY Somerville residents who have been so thoughtful and concerned about Cleo's whereabouts. I really appreciate the many well wishes. However, I would ask that you please refrain from calling just to ask if I've found her. My heart jumps every time an unrecognized MA number comes up on my phone. I will be certain to post online, remove flyers about town and announce happily to everyone when Cleo returns home. In the meantime I'd love to keep my phone line open to calls from people who may have seen her.
Thank you!!!

Date: 2008-08-11 08:57 pm (UTC)latest Cleo sightings...
Date: 2008-08-11 09:22 pm (UTC)But the last phone call I got was someone saying they saw her on Powder house blvd headed towards Dilboy Field/Pool. That was last Monday 8/4 at about 6:00pm.
Prior to that she was seen ( and very accurately described both looks and behavior) in Medford off of Riverside ave in the fields and areas around the school campus over there. I received two phone calls about sightings there on Saturday 8/2 and two calls from sightings Sunday 8/3.
There hasn't been anything since last monday, unfortunately.
