I made an appt. to take my cat to his vet, Revere Pet Clinic. He's having problems with his gums and teeth and in a lot of pain. When I showed up for my appt., I found out that there was an error and my appt. didn't get recorded in the schedule and the vet had already left.

Anyway, I made him an appt. for two days from now, but he's in pain and I really don't want him to be. I think he just needs antibiotics. I can't afford to pay some huge emergency surcharge. Are there any places that are open late? Or are there any vets here willing to work on the black market?

*resists temptation to post picture of sad kitty who just spent an hour in the car for nothing (or sad owner who just spent an hour in the car for nothing)*

I only know of angell memorial, but there'd probably be your emergency surcharge. I'd try calling porter sq vet first thing in the morning.

City Cats in Arlington was open until 8, I just came from there. :/ But they are quite expensive.

I'd just go to Angell (http://www.mspca.org/site/PageServer), to be honest.

If you do decide to wait until morning,I was able to get worked in for a same day appt. at Arlington Animal Clinic (on Broadway) when my dog had a urinary tract infection. In fact, when I called, they had me bring her right over. None of the other vets around could see me for a couple of days. We saw Dr. Morrison and I was very happy with the care we received. Hope your kitty feels better soon.

Now and then my vets (Dr. O'Donnell and Dr. Gilbert) at Winter Hill Veterinary Clinic get a cancellation - no harm in asking. The number is (617) 623-5075. They've been a tremendous help to my cat, and they work well with humans too (e.g. they don't get upset if I look up journal articles and use the information I find in them, or experiment with cutting out this or that food to see if it's what causing the problem). But they're definitely Monday to Friday, business hours only.

Is that the Revere-Winthrop Veterinary Clinic? If so, they did the same thing for me once -- didn't record an appointment. I just had to wait some extra time, though, as the vet was still there, so it was only a minor annoyance. I've stopped going there, though, because in the two times I went, both of them created some sort of "minor annoyance" and I wanted to take my kitties somewhere that I could count on.

Sorry to hear it. I don't really have any recommendations, but it looks like you've received a few good ones already. Good luck! And poor mister kitty. =(

Oh, no, mine is on the VFW Parkway. Maybe Revere's just not a fantastic place for pets. =P The vet himself at R-WVC is really fantastic, it's just the office staff that can't seem to get their acts together.
I take my babies to the North Shore Animal Clinic in Lynn now.
