I checked the tags and did not see anything pertaining to this, so here goes. I just got back from Poor Little Rich Girl with a huge bag of stuff I dropped off a couple weeks ago that they didn't want. Most of it is sweaters and associated shirts one would be looking to wear this season and the coming ones. A couple pairs of pants, one still with tags, etc. Anyone have a consignment store they recommend? Most of the stuff is too good just to send to Goodwill, and let's face it, we can all use a few extra bills, but I would rather not deal with the hassle of eBay for this much stuff. I have a car and am willing to use it. :)

Depends on what you have. Are they designer goods? If so, there are a few consignment stores around Newbury.

Just curious - do you have any idea why Poor Little Rich Girl has a boarded-up window today?

Hi,

A fight broke out in front of the store last after the bars got out and someone got thrown threw my window. Lovely.

I still don't know the details, I am not even sure if the person is okay. The glass is very thick, so I cannot even imagine the force that was applied to the window.

As far as consignment goes, if it is something that we didn't take, give "Something Extra" in Arlington a try.

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear this, and hope you can collect from the insurance of whoever did this to your window

Thanks Ron,

Hopefully the person who went thru the window is not injured, I don't have any information about it yet.

Meredith,
Do you take designer bags? I'm looking to make room and getting rid of a Fendi (never carried, why keep?), 2 Coach, 1 Juicy and a bunch of Kathy VanZ (hate her stuff).

Hi,

Yes, we take all of that stuff, it really depends on age, condition, and style.

You can call the store and make an appointment, I will apologize in advance for the wait, I think we are booked about 5 weeks in advance. After that initial appointment though you can drop off without an appointment the first two weeks of the month.

I am sorry about the wait, but your items sound like things that we would be able to sell for you! :)

I'll call today.

They're all 3 years old, excellent condition (the Fendi and one of the Coach bags were never carried and the others were carried only once or twice, so you can see why i'd like to make room - why hang on if I'm not going to use?)

No worries about the wait. It would take me longer to take pictures and upload to e-Bay. In fact, it has taken me longer. : )

There were a few consignment shops on Maas Ave near Davis and Porter. I can't remember their names and unfortunately don't know if they're still open. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I've gone the "PLRG" than Garment District route. Eh, it's a l lot of work, but I have the flexibility during the week. FYI: Garment District is [bring in a maximum of 25 items] and they have a minimum take of 6 to transact with you. And they're re-sale, not consignment. You can get (35%? I forget) cash back for items they take, or 50% in store credit.

Speaking of Arlington, I've seen another consignment shop called Wardrobe, though I have not checked it out; it's near the Jefferson Cutter House; address= 23 Mystic Street.
