Political posters

Does anyone know where I can get Obama/Biden or McCain/Palin posters in the area?

I've seen them in windows and on people's lawns, but I never seem to encounter the folks giving them out.

I'm hoping this won't spawn a "So now you have to tell me who you're voting for" debate in the comments, I just want to know where to get the posters for both parties, since that seems only fair. ;)

Any campaign office will have them. McCain's campaign office is in Downtown Crossing near Park Street (just walk down Tremont on the left side, you'll see it). Probably the few people there will be very happy to see you (I walked by and it's really just pitiful.)

I was able to download the Obama logo from their website and print it at 36" x 36". (http://dandelionsoccer.com/freeway/mcgrath.jpg)

Depending on what you plan to use it for I might be willing to print one for you. I'm not willing to print the McCain poster though. :)

You should be able to get them from the campaign offices. Obama/Biden's looks like it's near Sullivan Sq. (http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/maoffices) while McCain/Palin's is near Park St. (http://massachusetts.johnmccain.com/Massachusetts.htm).

If you don't have luck there, you might want to try some of the NH offices; they're probably better funded...

Is he on the Massachusetts ballot? Actually I have no idea which, if any, third-party or independent candidates have qualified here. The Secretary of State's page doesn't yet have sample ballots for November.

He's the Libertarian and I'm assuming he's on the ballot.

Libertarian isn't an officially recognized 'major party' in Massachusetts, so Barr would have had to turn in 10,000 signatures by September 5. I have no idea if he did.

(A party is considered 'major' in Massachusetts if at least one of its statewide candidates got more than a certain percentage of votes in the last state election. Green-Rainbow and Working Families did; Libertarian did not.)

Libertarian Party will be on the 2008 Presidential ballot thanks to the ACLU (http://www.lpmass.org/).

According to the Libertarian Party website, Bob Barr will be on the Massachusetts ballot.

According to the Green Party website, Cynthia McKinney will not be on the Massachusetts ballot.

Now that's odd, since Green-Rainbow is a "major party" and its nominee should be automatically on the ballot.

This Green-Rainbow press release from September 6 says that McKinney is on the Mass. ballot. It even lists a slate of electors.

I doubt it. The party exists in Massachusetts only because its candidate for state auditor, Rand Wilson, received a sufficient number of votes in 2006. I don't think they ran any candidates for any office whatsoever in 2008.

He wasn't on the primary ballot. He wanted to get their nomination through write-ins, but he needed 1000 votes. I don't think he got them.

More on the Barr front and the McKinney front: I have not seen a single poster, bumper sticker, lapel pin, or anything for either candidate around here. Has anyone else?

Secretary of State Galvin has posted the complete list of candidates for the November Massachusetts state election.

For president, there are six candidates. Besides the four already mentioned in this thread already, there's also "NADER and GONZALEZ, Independent" and "BALDWIN and CASTLE, Constitution". I've never heard of them or of the Constitution Party before.

John Kerry has a Republican opponent, Jeffrey Beatty, and a Libertarian, Robert Underwood. The Libertarian party has no candidates for any other office besides President/VP and US Senator.

No other office in any Somerville district is contested. Mike Capuano, Pat Jehlen, Anthony Galluccio, Denise Provost, Carl Sciortino, Tim Toomey, and Michael Callahan (Governor's Council) are all unopposed on the ballot.

Even the Middlesex County Register of Probate is unopposed. The replacement Democratic candidate, picked in party caucus on September 24, is Tara DeCristofaro of Medford. (Sorry, Sean O'Donovan. Next time, try not to have your campaigners make false claims of support from another candidate defeated on an earlier ballot.)

I don't think any Cambridge or Medford district is contested, either.

Maybe I should make this a new post too.

I interpreted the "them" you had never heard of as also including Nader and Gonzalez. Nevermind.
