• Recovering from the Traumas of War: Working with Unaccompanied Youth from Sudan- A special presentation by Dr. Hugo Kamya, Ph.D.
Dr. Kamya, Associate Professor of Social Work at Simmons College, will join us to talk about his work with unaccompanied minors from the Sudan-- young people who have been both unwilling targets and perpetrators of war. He will share with us what these young people know about their war-related experiences, the meanings they make from these experiences, what they learn about these experiences, and how they integrate and make meaning from these experiences. Dr. Kamya also will discuss responses to the plight of unaccompanied youth from Sudan and implications for practitioners, researchers, policy advocates, and human rights activists.
