Anyone know where I can get Mexican groceries? Specifically, I'm looking for chile poblanos, tortilla masa, harina para tamales, and dried corn husks. Cuitlacoche and banana leaves would also be nice. I'm looking for a place that's walking distance from Davis.

There are a couple of Mexican groceries in Union Square. For that matter, Market Basket on Somerville Ave will probably carry these items, too.

Whether Union is "walking distance" from Davis depends on your definition of the term. I'll happily walk to Union on a nice sunny day, but I wouldn't want to get my ice cream home before it melts!

Yeah, there is a big Brazilian market that might have some of the things you are looking for. It even recently got written up in the Improper Bostonian for how awesome it is. Anyway, you can easily get to Union Square from Davis on teh 87 bus, so it's not that far.

You might also want to ask for recommendations at the restaurant Tu Y Yo in Powderhouse Square. Seeing as how they actually serve cuitlacoche. They might not actually buy it locally, but maybe they know where one could? And I would guess that cuitlacoche is the most difficult to find, on your list, so anywhere that had it would likely have the other items.

Tu Y Yo is the best restaurant I have ever eaten at.
