I was eating at Picante around 6pm on Sunday (the 28th) when I heard fire trucks and saw firefighters heading toward the middle of Davis, on Elm. I looked down the street in that direction, and there were 5 or 6 fire trucks. People walking down the street (from there, toward me) hadn't seen anything on fire, nor had they noticed people being evacuated.
Anyone know what was up? I meant to ask at Diesel when I went there later, but I forgot. A false alarm seems likely, but what kind of false alarm draws that many trucks and people?

I could also believe that a brief power surge or power outage in that densely commercial an area could trigger a lot of fire alarms and automated fire-department-calling systems.
