early am/late evening vet recs
Oct. 30th, 2008 12:12 amHi all--
A while back, I posted looking for vets with late-night hours and people helpfully told me about the Angell and a place open until 8.
This time I'm looking for a good vet that either is open very early in the morning or at least until 6 pm or so. I work 8:30-5 in Quincy and can fudge slightly, but I can't leave work really early or come home midday, unfortunately.
I have an appt. with his regular vet Saturday, but I'm worried now, plus I was thinking anyway of switching to a closer vet since his is in Revere. I did call Angell to make sure his condition wasn't super-urgent, but I'm pretty worried (and apparently far more bothered by it than he is, go figure).
Thanks!

Date: 2008-10-30 04:24 am (UTC)These days, many vet offices have late evening hours at least one night a week - until 7 or 8PM. You should be able to find one without much problem.

Date: 2008-10-30 09:21 pm (UTC)I don't think they're open past 6 except in an emergency, though, unfortunately. Unless they have one day as a late hour; I honestly can't remember.

Date: 2008-10-31 01:30 pm (UTC)No seriously Dr. U is awesome and extremely good with both pets and humans. He even called me last week to check up on my pup because we've not talked in about 2 months. How thorough and awesome is that of a vet to do? Also he takes your considerations, questions, and knowledge into consideeration when planning a treatment. My dog has hardcore allergies and rather than putting him on anti-biotics for the rest of his life (which I'm not liking) we're doing crunchier things with oils and pro-biotics and they are working. He's supportive of bleeding other resources before stuffing drugs down his throat.
Love it. But no, I don't think they're open past 6pm. He's great in emergencies though - he gets me in same day if D is all shades of sick.

Date: 2008-10-30 07:04 pm (UTC)This place is a 24 hour vet clinic in Woburn. Great for me, since Angell is the only other alternative I know of, but I get lost when trying to drive to Angell (and with a critter in an emergency state, it's even more flustering). It's got the prices of a 24 hour place tho. They are very nice and sympathetic, and have a lot of the same feel as Angell (nice people, will take critter and stabilize THEN ask you questions, etc.).
Apparently there's 3 locations, but I have first hand experience with the Woburn locale only:
