Write ins?

Anyone know if we really need to bother with the address and stuff for write-ins for President (if we really want the vote to be counted)?

There's a campaign to write in Kuchinich, and I'd like to have that option if I happen to decide to do that tomorrow.

"All write-in or sticker votes should include the correct name and address of the candidates, but the courts have decided that a vote should be counted whenever the intent of the voter can reasonably be determined, even if the voter omits the candidate’s address or makes a mistake in the name or address. However, such votes are counted for the office where the name is written or sticker placed."

However, I doubt your write-in vote will be counted at all, since no electors have been registered with the Mass. Secretary of State for this candidate.

N.B. If you mean the Ohio congressman, his name is spelt Kucinich.

It'd probably also be a good idea to learn to spell his name before you write it in.

I think he's already on there. I sent in my absentee ballot last week and there were like 6 other people on there who were not the main candidates.

You might be able to find a sample ballot online, I think some election offices or newspapers have them online. Just maybe pull an address off of Google Maps or something if it's a different district/state...

Aaaaaand the previous post in this community had a link to sample ballots, and I was think of Nader.

Well nevermind then.

So does that mean Ralph Nader is a write-in candidate as well or will his name appear on the ballot?

Nader is on the Massachusetts ballot. Write-in votes for people whose names are on the ballot are not considered valid and may not be counted.
