Rimers of Eldritch opens this Friday
Nov. 3rd, 2008 03:57 pmI'm more excited about this piece of theater than anything I've done in years. My employers at Molecular will be proud that the show has a social media presence, including a trailer on YouTube and a Facebook page. I hope you can make it.
Theatre@First takes to a grander, split-level stage to bring to life the challenging and vibrant Rimers of Eldritch. Note that this play contains adult themes (sex, and violence, and violent sex, and sexy violence!) and may not be appropriate for younger audience members.
The Rimers of Eldritch by Lanford Wilson explores the false morality and desperate hopes of a decaying Midwestern rust belt town. Lanford Wilson's play weaves a shifting fugue-like narrative, dark, touching, brooding and humorous by turns. A murder trial unfolds over a year's seasons, and as 'rime,' or hoarfrost, descends over the land, this community reveals its demons and its heart.
PERFORMANCES:
November 7-8, 13-15, 20-22 @ 8 pm,
November 9 matinee @ 3 pm
LOCATION:
Elizabeth Peabody House
277 Broadway Street in Winter Hill, Somerville.
Near McGrath O'Brien Highway, on the 101 and 89 bus lines.
There is plenty of meter parking around (and since the shows are all at 8 pm or on Sunday, you really don't have to worry about feeding the meters).
Note, this is a second floor theater, no elevator.
TICKETS:
Reserve your tickets now! $12/$10 for Seniors/Students
Make reservations online or by email or by phone toll-free at 1-888-874-7554
Please join us and bring your friends for a great
night of theater!
[Note to mods; although the Peabody house is a couple of miles away in Winter Hill, T@F is centered in Davis, and there are several Davis Square-ites involved in the production; if you feel this posting is inappropriate, my apologies, and feel free to remove it]
