Davis Square Farmers Market to close at 5 from now on

Hey folks,
I just saw in my e-mail that due to the time-change and darkness and all that, the Davis Square farmers market will close at 5 PM from now on.
The market is open until the day before Thanksgiving. Other markets still open (and open until Thanksgiving Week):
Copley Square (Tuesdays and Fridays)
Central Square (Mondays)
City Hall Plaza (Mondays and Wednesdays)

I hadn't even realized they were still open into November. A 5 pm closing makes it impossible for me to patronize it, but I certainly understand the farmers not wanting to stand around in the cold darkness.

I figured maybe some people work downtown and can make it to the others during lunch hour.

Oh! I forgot the other part of my point! Enterprise Farm, one of the farms at the market, is investigating a Davis Square pickup location for a Winter CSA they are doing. While I'm giving farm news, my very favorite farm, Verrill Farm in Concord, is aggressively rebuilding from the fire in September (same day as Farm Aid, the irony) that burned them to the ground. They are open and now have a trailer with refrigerated and bakery items. They are looking to break ground on their replacement building shortly! www.verrillfarm.com

Pardon my ignorance, but what sort of food does a Winter CSA deliver?

If it's like the winter share I have in November and December, potatoes, onions, carrots, cabbage, garlic, turnips, rutabaga, kale, collards, cauliflower, leeks, squash, sweet potatoes, pasnips, shallots, celeriac, beets, etc., are all possibilities.

Thanks for the info! The Davis Square pickup is on - they had brochures and signup forms at today's Farmers' Market.
