I wanted to let the community know that I had an amazing experience today with Dr. Ramesh Izedian of Dental Arts in Somerville. I picked him because my insurance approved of him and because he was conveniently located on Highland. But:

1 sitting.
4 fillings.
No Novocain (!)
No pain.

Dr. Izedian was courteous, respectful, reassuring, and highly competent. He showed me exactly what he was going to do before he did it, and he explained everything along the way so that I wouldn't be scared. And when I walked out, my face wasn't numb and I could go straight to work and work a full day without any difficulty.

Of course, if there are any problems later, I'll certainly update this post and express my dismay. But right now, I am very, very happy, deeply relieved, and delighted to recommend him.

(Please note: this is my first time posting to this community, so if I haven't done this right, I will be happy to correct it. Thanks!)

Dental Arts is a really good practice. I've been going to them for 9 years.

Dr. Izedian isn't very patient with people with a serious fear of dentists, but Dr. Dobrin (at the same practice) is very patient and uses lots of novocaine if it's needed.

I've seen Dr. Izedian a few times and second your recommendation, but I'll also throw in one for Dr. Moghaddam, whom I usually see. He's fantastic, too.

Well, as someone with no fear of dentists but a very large dislike of needles, I'll definitely check this dentist out. Thanks!

I've never even heard of filling cavities requiring pain meds before, but then again I've never been to a dentist in the US.
