Meetup next week!

You might have missed the announcement in the midst of all of the political posts, but our next DS meetup is going to take place on Monday the 17th at 7pm at Rudy's Cafe in Teele Square. We have never been here yet for a meetup and I'm looking forward to it. I hope we have a good crowd and please let other people know about it (you don't have to live in Davis Square or even be a member here to go).

I'm going to give the manager a call on Friday to let him know how many people to expect. We are going to meet at the bar area and can move to the tables if the restaurant is really slow. I also have a facebook event you can pass around as well.

Rudy's bar area is kinda small and overlaps with the entrance and waiting area, so it might could get real crowded real quick in there.

However, the management is pretty cool about pushing a bunch of long tables together. We've had post-show parties at Rudy's involving a table running the entire length of the dining room, with some folks sitting at the Cool Kids corner in their little nook.

And this is definitely the place to go if you like your tequila. And your mezcal.

I went there one day and it looked like it would be fine. I left my number with the bartender to give to one of the owners, but I never heard back. Its possible the guy never passed on my number. Their webpage seems outdated and there is no email address listed, so I couldn't contact them that way.

I'm going back again in mid Dec to review grants! Perhaps I'll do another trip in late Jan, but probably it's too late to find a hotel...
