Sorry if this is not what you're looking for, but did you try Internet? I'm calling home across the ocean several times a week and you can't beat their rates... I use uniontelecard.com
http://www.nobelcom.com/ I have been using it for a few years now to call Europe and Asia without problems. You just pay online with a cc and they send you the codes by e-mail right away. You have to pick the card that works best for you. Some cost less per minute, but there is a weekly fee or so (that gets deducted from the card). Some expire after 6 months, and so on. If you plan to make calls over the course of one year, you save by buying one with a lot of minutes that does not have a weekly fee. If you plan to use it all within a week or so, then the weekly fee does not matter.
I think the kiosk in Porter Square T-station sells them. -- one of those little cart-things between the booth and the commuterrail portal. (I remember it being there anyway)
You may also wish to try Farmer's Bounty in Davis. Stab in the dark, but it might work out.
I recommend http://onesuite.com . Their international and domestic rates are among the lowest I've seen, and they have plenty of local numbers which give you slightly better rates. They even have access numbers in several other countries so you can use it while travelling.
They have no fees (except if you call their 800 number from a pay phone -- there's no way around that one). There's a $10 minimum when you buy or recharge, and the card "expires" after 6 months, but your entire balance gets reactivated if you recharge it after that.
