Help!
I asked about this months ago with no luck, but maybe now that it is getting closer to the date of auditions/performance, someone will have information.

I am looking for a production of The Vagina Monologues that has open auditions. Meaning, usually colleges and communities put them on, and mostly the casting is closed to the members of those colleges and communities. However there are some that are open to the public. Does anyone know of such a production happening this year? I'm too broke and, er, bureacratically challenged for college, and i reaaaaaalllly would love to be part of this amazing experience again, so if anyone has word on open ones, i would really appreciate it! Thank you!

New England Theater 411 (http://www.netheater411.com/index.asp) lists most local open auditions. I don't see any productions of TVM at the moment, but keep your eye on the site. (click the "curtain" link to see the audition listings)

I believe TVM has a special permissions structure that makes it easy and accessible for just about anyone to do. If it came down to it, you could mount your own production just about anywhere. There are certainly enough actresses in the neighborhood who would likely love to join you.

That's getting a little personal, I think.

I’ve seen fliers about auditions for TVM at Tufts (near where 7-year-olds gather for Community Music on Saturdays. Seven-year-olds must not read bulletin boards, however, because not one of them seems to have noticed the bright pink fliers, which means I haven’t had to answer questions about what the play is about.).

Auditions are Dec. 1 and 2. Sign up at the Aidekeman callboard. I don’t know if the auditions are open to the public or not, but the flier says to call the box office if you need directions (Box Office - 617.627.3679). Or you can just go over to sign up and see what happens.
