Barber recs for facial hair?

My husband has recently been growing his beard and would like to go once or twice to a professional to get it trimmed and shaped, both to look put-together for a job interview and then to have something to work from moving forward.

Anyone have any recommendations specifically for a barber who is:
~in the Davis area
~good with beard shaping
~not mean/condescending to n00bs
~not expensive (see "job interview")
~available on short-ish notice (see "job interview", which is on Thursday)

I know you said near Davis, but there is Floyd's 99 between Porter and Harvard that specializes in old fashioned barber shop stuff. Check their website and give them a call.

I occasionally get mine trimmed by "Anthony" (the young guy) at Dante's Barber Shop, that preserved-in-amber relic on Highland Av. But last time I was there, I found out he had broken his ankle and I had to use another barber. Don't know if he's back on duty yet.
